My youngest son said, "Smiley faces on balloons make me feel sad."
"Why?" I asked, somewhat baffled.
"Because they don't have any brains."

Tea
The other evening, as we were out running a late errand, my middle son asked if we could get some tea. I said, "Tea would probably not be a good drink at this time of night. It would keep you awake; and it's a school night."
"What about decaffeinated tea?" he asked.
I said, "We could get some chamomile tea, maybe. That actually helps you sleep."
After we had run our errand and were heading home, my son said, "Can we get some camel toe tea?"
"Huh? Camel toe tea? What's that?"
"You know... the tea that helps you sleep better."

What's Your Talent?
The other day, my seven-year old asked me, "If you were on America's God Talent, what would your talent be?"
I said with a laugh, "Well, I don't really have any entertaining talents, honey."
I asked him, "What would your talent be?"
He said, "I don't know. But I know I have a talent in me somewhere. Someday I will find it."
I'm sure he will.

What Do You Know?
At a recent trip to Ft. Lowell park, where there was a Civil War demonstration, my six-year old son asked the man standing next to the canon, "Is that a Hotchkiss Mountain Gun?" The man, slightly stunned, said, "No, but it's very similar." Later, this same son asked another "soldier" if his rifle shot "223 Remi's". Again, his question surprised the gentleman.
You may be curious, like we were, where he got his information. An episode of "Top Shot", which he watched with Daddy, taught him about the first, and a walk with Grandpa on which he found such treasured brass, the second.
